Regulated training is capped at 12 attendees per tutor (as per awarding body guidance). MEP can provide multiple tutors, meaning an influx of 12 attendees per tutor present, however, we recommend keeping the courses capped to 12 attendees due to the nature of the programme and subject matter being discussed. This is learning done with you, not training done to you!

MEP charges £1,650.00 + VAT for this course, which is 5 days of learning a regulated qualification, taught and assessed by subject matter experts! 

MEP charges £19,800.00 + VAT for up to 12 places on this programme where our subject matter experts deliver and assess at your location. This is a fixed price for all organisations, anywhere in the UK!

The course lasts 5 days of tutor guided learning and assessments, this applies to open courses and courses provided to organisations. Note there is also a requirement for attendees to complete 10 hours of pre-course online learning, which will be supported and facilitated using MEP Virtual Learning Environment, Microsoft Teams Education.

There are three assessments:

1. Multiple choice question examination.

2. Scenario-based assignment, comprising of a CT risk assessment and preparedness plan.

3. Professional discussion.

It’s a broad term. A community could be any group of people with a tangible bond, from geo-location to cultural ties.

Often, it’s a local community – or a subset, like a redundant workforce or immigrant population. But it needn’t be location-specific. We can help military leavers adapt their skills for the employment market… help ex-offenders gain qualifications… help members of a struggling profession to diversify their skills…

Through face-to-face or distance learning, we can give any community the skills to overcome their unique, specific challenge. 

Some of our training is accredited, leading to recognised qualifications that can start or build careers. But ‘accredited’ isn’t everything. Some communities need more – something that isn’t available off the shelf. Then we can either make small adaptations to an accredited programme or devise our own bespoke package. It all comes down to the needs of the community.

We get to know the community first, to understand their goals and barriers. Then their training is a custom mix of all-purpose lessons and contextualised learning.

This makes our training more relatable, for cohorts and individuals:

• Leadership training means more when we build on the learner’s background.
• First Aid training resonates when we focus on relevant risks and injuries.
• Education skills come to life when we consider the subject and audience.

It’s all about adapting a proven training framework, in a way that speaks directly to the learning community.

Every programme is different, but as a rule, one tutor will work with up to 12 learners.

Yes, we’re always flexible. If you have a suitable training space, we can deliver the training in your local community. If your community is dispersed, we can deliver online. Or if you prefer, there’s space here at our education centre in Hereford.

Yes – our most popular first aid courses lead to a Highfields Level 3 award.

It depends on the kind of adaptations we make. Often, we can tailor the accredited training – putting first aid in the context of your operations – so learners still get a recognised qualification at the end. But if you need something fully bespoke, it may not meet the rigid guidelines for accreditation. That’s something we can discuss.

Yes, if you have a suitable training space with room for practical demonstrations. We can also deliver it here at our education centre in Hereford.

Emergencies can happen anywhere, so it’s always useful to include some emergency care. But serious incidents are more likely in some settings than others, and some types of emergency call for more specialist skills. So let’s discuss your work environment and choose an appropriate level of training.  

Theory is only useful when it’s put into practice! So we mix classroom learning with open discussion and hands-on demonstrations, with every attendee getting involved. This will equip them to answer questions and pass a practical assessment, as required by the awarding body.

Yes. We’ll work with you to choose a training package that suits your environment, and add some bespoke elements if we need a more specialist focus. Then in the group session, we’ll discuss relevant first aid scenarios, followed by practical exercises that we’ll put in context.

If you’ve already faced a specific on-site emergency, we can bring it into play here and use it as a point for reflection.

Each successful learner is awarded a Level 3 certificate that’s valid for 3 years.

Every organisation is affected by conflict in its own unique way. Internally, it could be a brooding, resentful discord that stalls collaboration, or open hostility that threatens team dynamics. While externally, there’s a higher chance of physical risk, in public-facing situations where tensions can escalate quickly.

It’s different for everyone. So our first priority is to understand what it means to you. Then we can address it in detail, through bespoke or regulated training.

Yes. It’s vital that everyone can identify the first signs of conflict, and diffuse tense situations. This is especially important for managers, who need the observational skills to see trouble brewing in various forms:

• Personality clashes
• Belittling or coercive behaviour
• Sources of customer conflict
• Confrontational body language
• Aggressive words or tone of voice
• Behaviour under pressure
• Scope for misunderstanding
• Factions forming within teams
• Physical hazards that heighten risk

We can address all this and more, through early intervention techniques that will cut off the problem at source.

Yes. When an internal conflict has taken root, there’s always a lot to unpick: how did it begin, who was unreasonable, what was miscommunicated, and what would it take to bring all parties back to the table?

It takes patience and diplomacy, something we can cover in detail if there’s bad blood in your ranks.

Then the rest of your training will make sure there’s no repeat of hostilities.

With open discussion, it’s natural to worry you’ll be poking at old wounds. But everything is carefully facilitated, with a positive, constructive approach to avoid any kind of flare-up. It’s about laying issues to rest, so you and your team can move forward.

Yes and no! The truth is, no-one in a training room wants to be dragged into role-play. Your people are not actors, so the outcome is often awkward and unproductive. However, role-play is a proven way to explore and reflect on difficult situations – and vital when we’re putting a risk into your specific context.

So we will use role-play, but our facilitator will always take the lead.

They’ll use it to demonstrate different types of behaviour, like passive Vs aggressive language. So your teams can observe and comment, without feeling judged.

The end result very much depends on our starting point – the type of work you do, and the conflicts you need to address. So we’ll know more when we talk.

However, typical outcomes include:

This programme covers the basics of education and training, so you don’t need qualifications or teaching experience. You just need to be 19+ years of age at the time of enrolment, with a good standard of written and spoken English.

You can study online over 4 months, or join us in Hereford twice a week for a 6-week face-to-face programme. Either route will lead you to the same Level 3 qualification.

Then to complete your MBA, you’re on a 7-month schedule.

A new subject can be daunting, and it’s easy to lose confidence. So you can speak to your tutor at any time, and get feedback on your assignments. They’ll let you know how you’re doing, and steer you through to the end of each module.

And don’t worry about timing – it’s a 12-month programme, and you’ll have up to 24 months to complete. Just agree deadlines with your tutor, to fit in with your schedule.

You’ll submit a set of written assignments, plus two short presentations. There’s no exam to swot for – just submit the work on schedule, and your tutor will feed back to you via Teams Education.  

Level 7 is all about choices. Use it to win a new job or promotion, start a new career, or even set up your own business – your options are wide open.

And remember, it’s also a stepping stone towards an MBA. If you earn the full 120 credits, you can apply for a Masters at a choice of universities. We’ll explain it all when we talk.

Yes, it’s a custom-fit. We’ll be looking at the leadership challenges you face, and devising a programme that gives your team the exact set of skills and knowledge they need to work more effectively.

More importantly though, they’re experts in applying leadership and management principles to meet specific challenges. So whatever your field, your programme is tailored to your exact situation.

There’s no fixed entry standard, as we’re interested in people and their experience – not formal qualifications.

When we talk, we’d like to know more about your team and the work they’ve done so far. If they have some hands-on experience – as part of a team or leading one – then we have something to work with. We can devise a programme around their strengths and training needs… then at the coaching stage, we’ll relate back to the work they’ve done, to help each lesson bed in.

Typically, a custom programme leads to a BTEC Level 7 in Strategic Management and Leadership. However, that’s up to you – if you prefer to narrow your focus to a niche set of skills, we can bypass the qualification and just equip your team for a specific challenge.

Yes, if they pass Level 7. This earns them 120 credits, which will qualify them to study for an MBA – we work with many universities who accept this as an entry qualification.

Alternatively, there’s a non-bespoke route that will fast-track them to a Masters. This might suit you if you’re developing a smaller leadership team – take a look at our MBA programme with Cardiff Metropolitan University.
