Coaching the individual

No doubt you’ve built an eclectic team, with diverse backgrounds and talents. So each will have their own unique skillset, their own learning style, and their own bank of personal experience to draw on.

That’s our starting point. Instead of one-way lecture-style training, we’ll connect each learner with a personal tutor who’ll gauge their perspective and make the subject personally relatable.

Where we can, we connect each lesson to work they’ve carried out for you, so it has an authentic and contextualised base to build on. Failing that, we look to their earlier career, or pose questions from real life cases in your organisation or sector, so they can draw parallels and build out their knowledge through association.

Either way, the purpose is to embed established principles through a tangible process that’s more effective than theoretical learning.

In other words, “bespoke” to us means customising twice – adapting first for local needs, then adapting again for each learner.

Case Study

English language training for Gulab Sorkh Foundation

The Gulab Sorkh Foundation supports former members of the Afghan security forces – people who worked closely with the British armed forces for 20 years, before moving here with their families under the Government’s Afghan Relocation and Assistance Policy (ARAP).

As their training partner, we’ve run a series of bespoke English language courses, tailored to help their evacuees integrate with their communities and improve their employment prospects.

All migrant and refugee communities need access to language skills, but old style “vocab and grammar” teaching is rarely fit for purpose. As this case shows, we can make a deeper social impact when the training aligns with the wider needs of the learning community.

In the client’s own words:

“MEP has been the trusted training partner for the Gulab Sorkh Foundation as we seek to build independence in the Afghan evacuees we support.

They have developed an excellent programme of English language training with an emphasis on good citizenship and employment skills.

This is delivered by MEP professionals sensitively and effectively. The MEP service has been truly first rate and we couldn’t recommend them more.”
