Bespoke conflict management for Balfour Beatty employees

As the UK’s largest construction provider, Balfour Beatty has thousands of staff and contractors working in high pressure environments. Keen to improve working relationships – and ultimately, productivity – they asked us to train their teams in the art of conflict management.

When we met, we gave them two distinct options:

  • Teach the regulated Level 2 qualification, with a few essential changes to add an industry context.

OR

  • Create a custom programme, to meet the highly specific challenges that spark discord in their business.

They chose the custom option, because – in their business – context is all-important. It meant swapping the formal qualification for certified attendance, but this was an easy decision given the chance to create a unique addition to their training suite.
