Succession planning never ends. As an effective organisation, you’ll be forever seeking out new leaders… and taking steps to ready them for the task ahead.
This Level 7 qualification offers a solid start. Covering all areas of leadership and management, it’s a grounding for anyone who’ll be making decisions, steering projects or spearheading change.
For some, it’s a natural, self-contained route to promotion. And for others, it’s step one on a journey that ends with an MBA.
The education system has a built-in bias, prizing book smarts over all other forms of intelligence. But as every employer knows, talent comes in many forms.
In your ranks, you’ll have dozens of capable people who don’t get on with theories – but give them solid, concrete ideas and they’ll come into their own.
That’s why we work differently.
When you enrol an employee, we don’t care about their qualifications. If they’ve passed GCSEs… A Levels… even a degree… then so much the better. But we’re far more interested in the person behind the CV.
What’s their background? Their skills and interests? Their career plans? And more.
We place a higher value on this, because it will be their foundation for learning. It gives us a springboard – a chance to explore the subject in a relatable, practical context.
It’s amazing to see how non-academics grasp academic principles, when we take this highly personal approach.
Learning Outcomes
Your future leaders have skills and knowledge that already set them apart. They have a history too, which adds a unique perspective. So we’ll start by digging through their background, to find anchor points for each lesson.
It’s a revealing process we call “MINING FOR GOLD”.
We’ll ask about teams they’ve worked in. Difficult conversations they’ve had. Decisions they had to accept. New procedures they’ve adopted. Budget cuts that affected their work. Customers they’ve helped. Deadlines they’ve met or missed. Proposals they’ve submitted.
It’s all inspiration – priming their mind for the lessons that follow:
Strategic Management & Leadership
Strategic Change Management
Research Methods
Project Management
Strategic Human Resource Management
Financial Principles
Strategic Marketing
By the end of each module, they’ll see each situation in a new light. Gaining insight that equips them as a future leader… while flagging improvements you can make in your organisation.
Level 7 Strategic Management and Leadership offers a foundation that opens many doors. As a minimum, it will formalise the skills and knowledge of your most promising people, easing their path into management. And for those marked out for leadership, it’s an easy step to a Masters Degree.
“Train people well enough so they can leave, treat them well enough so they don’t want to!”
Richard Branson
Your organisation benefits too – and not just through future-proofing.
First, the coaching process is going to unearth new efficiencies… safeguards… profit sources… ideas you can explore and adopt.
And beyond that is a sense of cohesion. Your future leaders are more than raw potential now. They share a language, perspective, reference points. So they can work together seamlessly – taking a joint, holistic view of your organisation, and looking beyond their own functions to serve the overall mission.

FAQs
Level 7 builds leaders for any field, from business to government, third sector and more. The principles of strategic management and leadership are universal – and by drawing on each learner’s experience, we’ll be tying each lesson into the specific challenges you face as an organisation.
Previous qualifications are not important. We’re looking for motivated, hard-working people who’ve already shown you promise – if you put your faith in them, then so will we.
Our only stipulation is, they’ll need some real world experience, because we’ll ask them to draw on it as we move through each module.
That experience could amount to decades or just a couple of years. It could mean running a department, or being part of a team. We don’t specify, as long as they have a bank of inspiration – tasks and projects they can call on, to bring each lesson to life.
Don’t think of this as training – it’s hands-on coaching and mentoring, where each learner is personally guided through the course material. They’ll access pre-recorded seminars, then complete assignments, with constant access to a personal tutor who’ll make the subject relatable.
The upshot is, nothing that we cover will feel like theory. It’s about looking back at specific episodes in the learner’s work life, and using leadership principles to offer a new perspective.
Learners submit written assignments, plus two short presentations. There’s no exam at the end, because we find course work offers more time for reflection – giving learners the breathing space to deliver their best.
Yes, for up to one year. We understand that you’re seconding an important person from your organisation, and you might need to scale back their hours as circumstances change. So we’ll agree a schedule, with deadlines for assignments – then if anything changes, let us know. The 12-month programme can extend to 24 months if needed.
We don’t set a limit. Get in touch and tell us about your future leaders, and we’ll consider each application.
Yes. Level 7 earns them 120 credits, which will qualify them to study for an MBA – we work with many universities who accept this as an entry qualification.
Re-entering an academic training environment was a daunting prospect after several years decades away from it!
In hindsight there really was no need whatsoever for concern, the Minerva Team are small and perfectly formed, from my initial first contact through to finishing the qualification they were always there to support me every step of the way.
