Conflict Management & Harm Reduction

Bespoke Certified Coaching or Regulated Level 2 Award

But tensions needn’t boil over. Your team can learn to diffuse situations calmly, with no escalations or drag on costs and schedules.

  • For Your Business

Conflict is everywhere, in the office and the public arena. And in high-pressure settings like site operations, the risk only increases. So let’s discuss your line of work, and address the routine conflicts that can put your people – and your business – at risk.

  • Police officers in high-visibility jackets representing frontline services during professional training and development for military and bluelight teams.

    For Military & Frontline Services

In chaotic, evolving situations, problems can escalate quickly, increasing personal risk in hazardous surroundings. So frontline teams need custom skills to avoid and diffuse conflict – freeing them to focus on the job without disruption.

  • Participants in a bespoke government training and development workshop, with a learner asking a question during a coaching session.

For Third Sector, Education & Government

Heavy scrutiny. Shrinking budgets. Tough, emotive decisions. When you work under this kind of pressure, tensions are bound to run high. So we’ll work with you to understand these unique and diverse challenges, and devise a conflict programme that keeps your people safe.

Regulated or Bespoke?

When you get in touch, we’ll discuss the root causes of conflict in your workplace, and explore the fallouts: the impact on people, culture, efficiency, reputation and more.

Then we’ll set out your training options, so you can decide:

Can we meet your specific needs through regulated training, or will your people need something more bespoke?

AT A GLANCE:

  • Our Ofqual-regulated programme is a Level 2 award. The agenda is fixed, but we can add context to the assessment.
  • Bespoke training is unregulated, but tailored to your exact situation. There’s more interaction, and a chance to address highly specific challenges – and by narrowing down, we can cover all bases in less than half the time.

Learning Outcomes

With either programme, your teams will learn to:

  • Avoid personality clashes, to build positive working relationships.
  • Deal with aggressive customers or members of the public.
  • Stay calm and professional, in the most challenging situations.
  • Know when it’s safe to engage, and when to step away.
  • Understand lawful use of force and the right to self-defence.
  • Identify conflict early, and diffuse it before it takes hold.
  • De-escalate in tense situations, to avoid open conflict or grudges.
  • Negotiate when priorities clash, to find an effective compromise.

In the process, they’ll also develop transferable skills – including:

  • How to communicate clearly, in different situations
  • Effective use of body language
  • Empathy and active listening
  • Assertiveness and confidence
  • Dealing with stressful situations

And for you, as an employer, the end result is harmony:

A supportive work environment, where outside harms are minimised and diverse personalities can work together safely.

“If we manage conflict constructively, we harness its energy for creativity and development”
